What should I do if Computer in Slack is not responding to my messages?
If Computer in Slack isn’t responding, you may be using an outdated version of the app, particularly if you installed it before March 13, 2026. Try reinstalling the app in your Slack workspace to make sure you are using the latest version.
Does Perplexity store my Slack messages?
Perplexity accesses Slack messages in real-time to answer questions but does not permanently store your Slack data. Context is deleted after each query is processed.
Can the Slack App access private channels?
The Slack App can only search messages in channels and DMs that the requesting user has access to. It follows Slack’s native permission model.
Is there a limit to how many questions I can ask?
Slack App usage counts toward each user’s Computer limits on their Perplexity plan. You will need credits to use the Slack App.
Why do I need a paid Slack plan?
Slack requires a paid plan for third-party app installations. This is a Slack requirement, not a Perplexity one.
Can I use the Slack App and the Slack Connector at the same time?
Yes! The Slack App lets you ask questions inside Slack, while the Slack Connector lets you search Slack content from Perplexity’s web app. They complement each other.
